Corben Simpson - Corben Simpson 1972

Hey again. Up next is New Zealander "Corben Simpson", founder member of "Blerta" which I posted long ago on the recommendation of Roddus. This is his first solo album and is a very good folk album folks. I have a request for his most rare second album "Get Up With The Sun". But I hope this one suffices in the interim. Thanks and enjoy. And speaking of our antipodean cousin Roddus, he is up next with another one of his tantalizing Samplers.

Blerta - The Return Trip Soundtrack 2001

This next band "Blerta", an acronym meaning "Bruno Lawrence Electric Revelation and Traveling Apparition", from New Zealand were a mad and rather talented bunch of hippies that put on theatrical and musical shows around Australasia in the early 70's. They were picked up by the networks and a documentary was made to highlight their mad-cap world. "The Return Trip" is the Soundtrack to this crazy adventure, but in essence is a compilation of their first 3 albums, which are very rare indeed. There are many tongue-in-cheek tracks, especially 10", which will keep most of the male population chortling for a while and us females dreaming. You wish. So let "Blerta" take you on a magical, trippy ride packed with fun and raw talent. This one goes out to Roddus. Your up my friend. And it was a pleasure.
