It's time again for another Roddus sampler with this collection of great tracks that have really impressed me over the last couple of months of wading through my hard drive of music. This collection has a strong Jazz flavour with excellent stuff from the likes of South Africa's brilliant Themba, the jazz rock of Spirit's "Elijah", some great Soft Machine and my favorite track off my album of the month by Toshiko Akiyoshi. We also have some brilliant lost 60/70s rare artifacts that I discovered on the excellent mysteryposter Blog, especially the totally cool Krimson Kake with this song off their only single. I have included one of my favorite Captain Beefheart songs as a tribute after his passing in December.Ticket is a legendary acid rock band from here in New Zealand and I have included the awesome first track of their recently reissued first album which I managed to pick up before they sold out. Mention must also be made to the incendiary "Pain..." by the pre White Stripes Upholsters, Jack White at his glorious best. Finally I will point out the inclusion of the Bob Dylan Masterpiece "Blind Willie McTell" which comes from the "Bootleg series Vol 3" of which I got the whole 9 volumes for my Birthday last month. Thanks Dear Mrs Roddus you spoil me. Any way wade into this sampler and discover some other great gems I haven't mentioned.
