It does not feature on this album, but I have included it as he says they play it all the time on a Winnipeg Radio Station CFRW. Thanks for your request D. J. Cicone. Enjoy y'all.

Baron Longfellow - Prisoner By Design 1984

Most of y'all will probably know Canadian artist "Andy Kim", but may not know that after he stopped recording in 1976, he had a return to show business in the 80's under the pseudonym "Baron Longfellow". I did not know that until I researched his career after I posted one of his albums recently. "Prisoner By Design" is a very surprising piece of work and also very rare. He has totally changed his style from singer/songwriter and 60's Bubblegum Pop to what you would expect from the 80's - pop rock. And this IMO, reveals more of his talent by changing persona and genre to fit in with the era. I hope y'all like this, coz i do, and if it was just a standalone album by an artist called "Baron Longfellow" then it is still very good, but to know it is "Andy Kim" that is something else. I expect my friends Leo and Jeff to really enjoy this piece of music history. Enjoy.

A Roddus Music Sampler Volume 24 - UNCUT

Well before, I let Roddus do his thing folks, I just got say that I was just stunned when I opened this just up in my inbox and saw that this SUPER MEGA SAMPLER contains 196 tracks of pure rock. Good on ya' R. for getting this together. I hope it keeps our readers out of mischief for some time. And I hope you get to answer many comments also Roddus. We are not worthy.

For several years I was a regular reader of the British music magazine "Uncut". It was an excellent read with it's featured article each month on the classic rock groups of old, and also articles on newer groups and many reviews of both reissued and new records. They were also big on Americana/Alt Country and they certainly informed my listening habits considerably during that period. But the best thing was the CD you got each month with a mix of new and old music relating to that particular issue it came with. Several other magazines do this as well. I have about 100 of these CD's and this MEGA Sampler is my "Best Of Uncut". Of many of the songs that I have become familiar with and enjoyed over the last 10 years. There are still many songs on those CD's that I haven't become so intimate with, so the exploring continues. I stopped buying it a couple of years ago now as I had to make some financial cuts and this was one of my sacrifices. Enjoy this MEGA Sampler. Roddus.

Murray McLauchlan - Murray McLauchlan 1972

We join the mutli-talented Canadian artist "Murray McLauchlan" folks, with his self-titled album from 1972. I put this on my requests list recently after posting some of his albums for tanktop and his wife. And together with his friend, they were able to deliver this one for me. Tanktop and Co., many thanks for the excellent rip. I converted it to mp3 from wma and split the two tracks that were wrapped. I also tagged and equalized volumes. Alot of work to get it to this state folks, so comments are always appreciated especially from some of my almost 400 subscribers and almost 150 followers. I don't see the point of having these things on my side-bar when they are clearly just a hinderance y'all. There are two kinds of people in this life - Givers and takers. Which one are you? We know what tanktop is - he is a giver folks. What side-bar button goes? You decide!!!

Outlaw Blues Original Soundtrack 1977

"Outlaw Blues" is a comedy-drama film from 1977 starring "Peter Fonda" and "Susan St. James", in which Bobby Ogden (Peter Fonda) an ex-convict gets ripped off for a song called "Outlaw Blues". The guy who stole his song is found dead and Fonda is a wanted man. I haven't seen this film but if it as any good as "Any Which Way..", I will probably enjoy it. The soundtrack has an excellent country, toe-tapping, sing-along to it and Peter Fonda and Susan St. James feature together on one cut. "Steven Fromholz" also does three tracks on it and that is the main reason I am posting it, because one of my most courteous readers Twil requested his two late 70's albums recently which I do not have and added them to my requests list. So I hope this goes to some way to letting you listen to some of Steven, Twil. There is some good news however Twil, I do have "Come Down To Texas 1969-91" by Steven, that contains 8, I think, cuts from 20 of those on the two albums you request. This CD was released a couple of years ago and not sure yet whether it is out of print. If it is I will post it, if not i will get you to leave your email in a seperate comment which I will not publish and get it to you.

Joey Gregorash - Tell The People 1972

More Canadania folks, (uch not more for those pesky Canucks Chuntao), with rock artist "Joey Gregorash". I posted "North Country Funk" about a month ago and I offer up his second album "Tell The People" from 1972. I put it on my requests list for me recently and lo and behold, my faithful contributor XNDER came up with the goods yet again. He put a third album called "Together" in 1987 and I will add that to my requests list also. Hint hint. I really enjoy Joey and his relaxed style. And I am sure y'all will too. Murray McLauchlan - Hugh's Room, Toronto 2005

Now folks, since tanktop invited me to post a very rare 80's album by this Canadian singer/songwriter a few weeks ago for his wedding anniversary, I have been trying to find others not included in his discography - as I have just about all of them I think - I found this which I feel is an unauthorised bootleg from 2005. "Murray McLauchlan" playing at one of Toronto's favorite live gigs "Hugh's Place" from March 13, 2005. It is a 2 hour set with a story in between most tracks, told with much frivolity y'all and most enjoyable indeed. It is also at 320 bitrate and recently Easy-Share have increased the maximum size from 100 MB to 200 Mb and now in the last week to 1000 MB/1 GB. Waoww. So this is rather a large file folks. Enjoy. And tanktop, thank your friend for his recent gift and I will get round to posting that rare one soon after I convert and retag etc. I will also look into your query re Ray Materick. I am sure I have a Best of album and will cross-refernce what tracks can be swapped, if any. Please remain patient however tanktop, I am not making any promises.

Brownstone - Brownstone 1973

A handful of y'all may recognise this next album, by Heavy Blues Rock band "Brownstone", with "Barbara Lopez" on vocals. It is because I shared it amongst my closest contributors and friends many months ago and asked them to no to share it and enjoy it. I thank all of them for doing so. But I spoke to XNDER recently who gave me this one all that time ago and he asked me not to post it until such time he was happy. He is now happy that I can post it y'll. And I am happy too. Even though he traded another cool album on the Playboy Record Label that i passed on to him and I got so many rarities back in return, I felt that I had to keep this sole eponymous album under wraps. Until now. So thanks again XNDER for this elusive album. I also have to say that even though Hugh Hefner exploits beautiful women for his own gratification, in the 70's he had great taste in music. Just check out "Halfbreed", "Yacqui" and "Doc Kirby & Co." folks from the same label that were donated by our Finnish friend Gumby. They are so cool those albums. Anyway folks, here is the another very rare one to add to your Playboy discography. Hope y'all enjoy. A couple of new & old readers are asking me how to donate albums to this blog. Backpages & Anon, you have to put the files in to a zipped folder using either WinRAR or 7-zip and then you can upload to either Rapidshare, Megaupload, mediafire, Easy-Share, uploadbox etc, etc. There are literally hundreds of free uploading services and some you need to create a free account and some you don't. Whichever one you chose, you will be given a link to the album and then you can leave it in a comment for me. For the Anon person who wants to donate ol' Canadania stuff, your email address will not be published if you don't want it to be. If you want to leave it in a comment, I will not also publish it and will try and find the time to get back to you. I hope this is off help for those who may be able to help.

Murray McLauchlan - Midnight Break 1985

Scottish born multi-talented (folk) rocker, but a naturalised Canadian Murray McLauchlan, is our next awesome rare post next folks. He has recorded some 19 albums or so and a couple of them are out of print, including this beautiful "Midnight Break" from 1985 released on "True North" Records. Anyway, enough of what I want y'all. This is a very special album and a very special day for one of my new top commentators and requesters - tanktop. It is his wedding anniversary today and he requested this a couple weeks ago after posting other Canadania for him. He tells me that he proposed to his wife with the song "I'm Best At Loving You" - you romantic man - and lost this cracking album way back. Tanktop, thank you for your request and hope this goes some way to re-living those days of old. You deserve this and so does your wife. Apart from smells, music can transport you back to a space and time and flood your mind with so many vivid memories. It was a pleasure tanktop and thank you for your patronage. Good luck and perhaps a bottle of Samsara/Chanel No. 7 perfume wouldn't be out of your reach also. Oh, did I forget the oysters also my friend. Lap this cool man up y'all. And get good old Murray also. My favorite cut on this album is "Ten People On The Sidewalk". The harmonica is just superb. Have a great day Tanktop & Co.
