A Roddus Music Sampler Volume 14 - Xmas Cheer

Well Folks, another year has almost slipped us buy and Chuntao suggested A Roddus Xmas Sampler. Now if you think that means soppy crap like; "I SAW MOMMY KISSING SANTA CLAUS" or "SNOOPYS CHRISTMAS" well sorry to disapoint ya. Seeing as I trolled my hard drive for songs with "Xmas or Christmas" in the title, all sorts of weird stuff turned up. Frankly, Christmas dosen't seem to inspire musicians to the peak of their creativity, so it wasn't easy to find enough tracks to reach the giddy heights of previous samplers, still there is a real eclectic mix here as usual, so treat yourself to the alternative to all that Xmas drivel you are likely to hear on the Radio and the even worse piped Xmas slop they feed us at the malls. Halfbreed - Halfbreed 1975

Hey folks, only me - Chuntao. And I am back with an exuberantly lavish mega-rare self-titled album by UK hard blues/ R&B band "Halfbreed". The singer Mick Whittaker is phenomenal and draws inspiration from funk and soul. This beauty was sent to me by an avid reader Gumby, who appreciates some of the rarities that I post and the work in maintaining this blog. So I thank you Gumby, my friend, and look forward in hearing what the rest of my readers think of this great album. I just love it.

I would also like to thank Alexis for keeping the faith and having a great taste in music and would like to wish Roddus a Happy Birthday. I think he is 33 (rpm) - get it. VA - Quagmire - Volume 06 - Frighteningly Rare 60's Garage From The Swamps Of Antiquity!

Hey folks. Most of y'all will probably have noticed that this Quagmire series appeared on chocoreve blog a while back, but the links are all broken. I should have posted this collection for Roddus, my trusty companion, many months ago but the amount of work to tidy this cracking set up has been more than I thought. All the tracks were either not tagged correctly, out of order or not even named. So I have had to listen to every one to verify that they should be here and then rename properly. The same goes for this Volume. Chocoreve had 17 tracks for this one, but further checking soon revealed that like the rest of these cool volumes, there should be 27 tracks. So sit and enjoy some nice, but short tunes from a bygone era. I will post Volume 7 over the weekend I hope and I need to find 2 tracks on Volume 8 that seem to be corrupt. Please be patient folks, I am on the case. PS If you see any letter "r's" missing in my type forgive me - it is petty sticky and I have given plenty of notice to 'Santa Andy' to get his finger out and fill my stockings...

A Roddus Music Sampler Volume 13 - Download

Well, it's time again for another Roddus Music Sampler. Back in the late 90's when I bought my first computer, the MP3 music file format was pretty new to the world and I embraced it wholeheartedly because there were all these sites where I could get free music legally. Two sites I used regulary were MP3.com, before it was sold and all the music files deleted, and the other was Epitoinc.com. These sites had music posted by the bands themselves to get their music to people who would not normally find it. There are still sites around that do this and on the whole the music ain't that good. But over the years I managed to collect a small archive of offbeat and very cool tracks that I found on these sites. The following Sampler is all the best legal songs I got from these sites , the many hundreds of others I had weren't worth keeping. Some of the stand outs here are the rythmically bizzare "Reverie"(Vas Deferends Organisation), The Awesome "In Metal"(Low), the industrial ambiance of Lustmord and the truly Magnificant post Punk of "Static"(The Standard). Over the Years I have found albums by several of these artists, but the rarest of them all appears to be "Prismatism", an avant guarde Jazz piano group, whom I cannot find a scrap of evidence that they even existed at all, apart from this very cool track here.
