Hell, is it really 33 years since I last heard this, still as good as I remember it as well, whatever happened to them, I know they did at least one more (I think selftitled) album. Cheers
Twil
Thanks for this!
Interesting album this, first tracks slow ,quiet Quality pop, then a more up tempo rocker or two with some god guitaring, then finished with some extended real jazzy tracks. Enjoyable
Had a couple more listens now and I can safly say that this is a top quality album. I don't usuially like those slow burning type pop songs but thes ones are of such good quality that even I apprecieate them.
Well done C on another exceptional post.
Thanks NerdToys.
Enjoy

You are correct Twil and I am making it a mission of mine to get that self-titled one. Perhaps Uberbelly might share it when he gets his talented hands on it.
Watch this space Twil.

No worries Doug.

A grower then Roddus,
Didn't think it would be your thing but good on ya' for trying it out and letting it grow on you. It is a rather quaint album.

Thanks Überbelly for providing me with something I often feel is lacking on this site (which I love, don't get me wrong); a sample or an explanation why this or that particular album is worth my dl-ing effort. I always check the comments and if I'm lucky there are some insights to make my decisions easier.
So, this one, did I or didn't I? Only my hairdresser knows for sure.
Mr. Leo Rattans.
(btw it's "suanon" this time. Do they mean "sue anon"?
Methinks you did! One listen to that voice and you're hooked...
cheers,
Jeff
Yep, I sure did. Big hugs to all involved, the donor, the uploader and last but not least, the reviewer.
After my first listen I felt the urge to play Warsaw (Joy Division) again. I like contrasts.
Good on ya Leo, and of course the Warsaw one is totally exceptional. I guess I should review it sometime.

if you want to hear the voice, listen to her first band Pied Pumkin - String ensemble Ist album
Pied ala mode 2nd album,
a compilation album is called Pied Pumkin - Plucking Devine
String Ensemble has the best version of FLYING, anywhere,
i've been looking for all these albums, so ... request if possible,
this is the "orignal" version of this song "FLYING", performed by the composer (Joe Mock, guy playing piano) and orignally performed on the album "String Ensemble - 1972", by Shari Ulrich's first band, Pied Pumkin. This is a reunion show, done in the 2000's.

first part of the post didn't get sent, i'll do again.
here's a link of the original version of "Fear of Flying", performed by Joe Mock (piano player, guitar player extradinaire and composer of the song), Rick Scott (dulcimer) and Shari Ulrich (violin), known at Pied Pumkin (Shari Ulrich's first band, before she joined the Hometown Band). The song is on their album String Ensemble - Pied Pumkin, 1972.
