Blackfoot Sue - Gun Running 1975

Here is an unreleased album by UK cool rockers "Blackfoot Sue". They changed their name to "Liner" releasing a self-titled album in 1979, and in the mid-eighties they changed their name to "Outside Edge". "Gun Running" had a working title 'Stick With Me Baby And You'll Wear Diamonds', but was never realized and scrapped by the record companies. It rox.

Hi. Excelent post!. If you have the Liner LP, please post it. I try to find the Liner LP from 1979 for 30 years and I can only find the single "You and me". Thanks and go ahead with your fantastic blog.

Holy sh!t - you mean it really does exist?!!? I have been waiting for this since 1974 after almost puking with disappointment over the second album! Even then, there were rumours of another ass-kicker like the first one (Liner sure as hell wasn't it and I gave up on the Farmer Bros, and Co. after that). But everything that I have come across about it since then said that it never really happened!

I'm stunned!

6 minutes to go - come on Easy Share!

You made my year! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!~jp~

Hey JP,

I guess you are pretty amazed with this one eh? Not just rare but pretty good also. I thought it's about time I gave these old rockers something to write home about. In fact, I try and do that with almost every post Jp ;]

Enjoy my friend

Yes, Chuntao - it is pretty good! It's not quite as good or as heavy as Nothing to Hide, but it is much better than Strangers.

I do not understand why this wasn't released - it's a hell of a lot better than the average release from the period.

Then again, in 1975, the Bee Gees and solo Gary Wright and (cringe) disco were getting big and even the Stones were cranking out horrid disposable disco crap, so maybe the fickle music business is why (god, I hated those days and the bland pop and hideous disco era that followed - if it hadn't been for bands like Aerosmith and then Van Halen, I'd have cut my ears off). Also, the Farmer Bros were clearly heading for the middle of the road, so maybe they didn't like it themselves. DJM must have had cash thanks to Sir Elton's success, so I don't think that was the issue. It would be interesting to know the real reason.

It amazes me that you have it - I never though I'd see it (but I always hoped :) How did you get it? Even the BFS web-site says 'This album was given a working title and a catalogue number but never officially released, though white label test pressings exist.'. This copy doesn't sound like an old 70's white label - it sounds fairly modern. Did someone like Repertoire finally find the tapes and release it?

'Cruisin the Highway' seems like the closest track to the first album - great track, even if it borrows the Beatles' 'Come Together' riff. This album is very early Queen-ish in places, but then again, BFS and Queen were just starting to happen about the same time.

Anyway, I just found your very nice blog yesterday and almost didn't see the post. The I saw it and shouted "YES!" and banged the desk with my fist (still hurts a bit). I'll be checking this site out quite often!

It's quite a biggie to tick off my want list after 34 years (ouch!) - thanks again.

Cheers!

~jp~

p.s. - people like you usually have want lists consisting 99.99% of things I never knew existed (which depresses me ;), but if you have one posted somewhere, I'll have a look to see if I can help.

waoww jp,

Some comments great thanks!!! :]

I can really tell you are elated with this. Uch it was nothing honest lol.

A great magician never reveals their secrets jp ;]

But you are right about one thing - it is very Queenish in part and very close to the first album.

And glad to be of service my friend. Do you any others on your wishlist?

If so leave comments which I will notpublish until I hit paydirt.

Many thanks for your comments and your visit. They mean alot jp and I am really impressed thanks.
