The Nomads - The Nomads 1973

"The Nomads" were a US funk/soul band that only did one album and this is a rare private press of that self-titled album on Village Records, VLS-1014. This is very enjoyable folks and I'm pretty sure y'all like it.

Thanks for this Nomads. There's been a lot of bands named The Nomads over the years but I wasn't familier with this one - but I like them alot. From reading the back it looks like they're from Antiqua. Anyway, thanks again & keep up the good work of supplying rarities like this.

Well C. You did it again, this is so bloody rare that it is impossible to find any thing about then on the net, how did you even find out about its existance ,let alone actuially find a copy of this to share?
This is what Rare MP3 is all about.
This is a very cool album, and the Calypso tinge to the music gives it a slight exotic feel. Leo Rattans, you should definalty immerse your ears in this.

Thanks Roddus for your complimemts.
Yeh it is very rare and I struggled to find much out on them also. The link I gave was to another 60's garage band called The Nomads which you were quick to point out.

Oh shucks then Roddus, ach you know..
lol

I am glad you like it, I really enjoyed it also and yeh you could be right there Leo might too.

Nice one R.

Thank you! I heard one of their songs via a mix from an ex (he must have been here too) but had trouble finding anything about them. Ah, the power of music.

I was a member of the band. There is only one guitar player on the album. (This guy is Mervin Marshall.) I heard that he has gone on to do other things -- e.g., Ph.D. in engineering, and professor of mechanical enginering at a Canadian university. He was the young an upcoming guitar star at the time in Antigua!

The last statement from anonymous was in error. The first sentence should read ... "I know a member who was in the band." instead of, "I was a member of the band." Soorry folks for the error.

Merv is one of my instructors in university, this is pretty cool he told us about this band today.
