Robin McAuley vocals carry this album to it's cult classic status. His voice is a smoky powerhouse that layers nicely over some decent guitar work and a band that was tighter than given credit for. Check out the harmonies on 50-50 for a prime example. "Shout" was the single but "Somewhere Tonight" is this band's finest moment. Thanks for the juice.

this is a classic, but when they did this live (supporting Maiden) i don't think there was one person who applauded. complete silence and if it weren't for the flexi disc they gave away at the door, which i listened to at home i would never have bought the album.

I was at the Maiden concert and thought they were great and the night I went they were received quite well, considering we were waiting for Maiden to come on! I bought a copy of Samurai after the gig. Unfortunately I dont have the album anymore, but still have the promo flexi disc.

Great album! A childhood classic for meg. So they were support acts for Maiden, maybe not the best combination. Grand prix is much more melodic AOR than headbanging metal. Both great bands though.
