Yo' Kilgore Trout,

How goes it my friend? Good now that you have been sorted with another wish. Sorry it's been so long KT. They are good as well. I wouldn't have posted if they weren't ;]

By the way Independence Day can be found by Fosterchild on another blog by Fosterchild just Google KT. It was released in 2007.

Good Luck

I don't think that 2007 album is by the same band...I saw a pic somewhere and they're very young.
And they're from the States.

Jeff/uberbelly,

You could well be right there. I have that 2007 album but neve had time to listen to it yet and I checked out the link youi gave me and these guys are from the States.

Perhaps they now use Fosterchild name as oiginal name is not used anymore. That is a shame how bands jump on unused band names and cash in on their original credibilty sometimes.

Many thanks for the info Jeff :)

Thanks! I have this LP and it's great to find a digitized version. I saw the band twice in the late '70s in northern Alberta (I guess that was the "b circuit" that canadianbands.com mentions!)

I Need Somebody Tonight is such a wonderful track, and impossible to find anywhere else. Is the skip in the beginning of the song unavoidable?

Thanks for a great page, I get almost all of my new music from here!

Thanks very much for all the Fosterchild, but track 9 is Hot Days Hot Nights fron the Troubled Child LP and not Hero Of The West

This would be so cool if you could re-release this in FLAC, or any other lossless format.
I nearly forgot about these guys, our band did a cover of "Until we meet again" in one set for a couple years. Hadn't sung that tune since 1979 but as soon as I played it, the lyrics all came back to me and I found myself looking for my guitar and a mic..;)
If someone has this in a lossless format and can up it, leave a post here and I'll get back.
Thanx ever so much for bringing back long forgotten memories!

I played drums on the Fosterchild - Troublechild and Fosterchild On The Prowl Albums trying to walk in the shoes of the late great Larrie Londin...tough act to follow!
They were a great bunch of guys to hang with for a few years.
Thank's so much for the comments and interest.
