VA - Feel Lucky Punk 1992

Hi Music lovers, after posting the "Roots Of Roddus" Music Sampler, it seems an appropriate time to post this rarity that I found back in the very early 90's. It appears to be some sort of bootleg compilation, of late 70s/early 80s Australian and American Raw Punk. This has become one of my all time favorite Punk comps and the two best, most raw tracks being "Mad - I Hate Music" and "Freestone - Bummerbitch". I have never seen it on CD, and about 12 years ago I paid lots of money to have it transfered to CD by a professional recording studio, who thought some of the music was hilarious. So as I said, this music is raw and not for the faint hearted. And again, thanks to Chuntao for posting this, which is not the usual sort of stuff that is posted here. So folks get this SUPER RARITY here FIRST and enjoy.

01. Hanging On - Rocks (1:53)
02. I Don't Wanna Work - Queers (1:58)
03. Horizontal Action - Psycho Sergeons (1:49)
04. Just Head - Nervous Eaters (1:59)
05. Tell Me Why - News (2:27)
06. I'm Useless - Queers (1:10)
07. New York Ripper - Violators (1:56) Track Removed see comments
08. Hillside Strangler - Hollywood Squares (1:54)
09. Kill Yourself - Lewd (2:07)
10. Disgusting - Mad (3:22)
11. Damn You - Rocks (1:32)
12. They Saved Hitlers Brain - Unnatural Axe (2:53)
13. Kick Her Out - Rocks (1:25)
14. At The Mall - Queers (1:04)

Roddus,

You have really outdone yourself here. This is mega rare and are putting me to shame on rarity value. I mean what will you think of next? ^^ "Rarest Of The Rare" series doesn't cut it- the people want even rarer than that! And I think you have cracked it here with this one.

Might not be my cuppa T Roddus music wise, not I am totally adverse to a bit of lightweight punk sometimes, but rarity wise I am over the moon and will need to pull out all the stops now ...;]

Bravo

MR RICH WRETCH,

Thank you once again for your fair warning. I will take down this link to that track immediately and comply with your wishes. RARE MP3 is not in the habit on treading on toes, albeit a very obscure single track from vinyl that never made it to CD.
And does not look like it will ever make to CD. Which is such a shame that a rarity like thgis cannot be shared with the rest of the world to enjoy.

Anyway Mr Wretch, I shall do as you request and await one of my co-authors Roddus to provide me a new link to keep you the copyright holder and BMI happy.

Thank you for your visit and heads up and apologize for any distress that this may have caused.

Yours Apologetically

Bugger, Just seen this, I have also deleted the file off easy share, but in light of the problems i am having with my computer, it will be several days before I can re up this without the offending track. i am in a state of disbelief that something as totally rare and obscure as this should be complained about like this.
I have tried to find out any info on this band and any record releases, but have come up absolutly empty handed, if this person is who he sayes he is then he obviously dosn't want any one to hear his music, especially considering it's complete nonavailability anywhere else.

Hey Rich,

Much obliged for your help here. And congratulations on managing to put out your work again. And hope that some of my readers and fans will visit your real site.

My co-author Roddus has deleted the link before Google/Blogger does that as a gesture of goodwill and will provide me a new link in next few days without your bands track being included. Feel free to download it when it is made available, to satisfy your own mind and that we are surreptitiously including it in the new archive.

Only a suggestion Rich, but for old & new fans alike, it would be good to offer one of your tracks on your site for listening purposes only, ie 30 seconds sample so that people can get a sense of your work.

Anyway good luck and I'm sure that there will be a loyal following with your new found energy and your work will still fetch high prices in the collector's circles.

Chow for now

Roddus,

Sorry that this has caused you some distress. But it's things like this that keep us on our toes. We just have to be more vigilant in the future and look forward to a new link when you are ready.

Again, c. , thanks for your help and kind comment and suggestions...also to Roddus and other folks in new zealand, The Vioilators and the ny ripper b/w/my country are amazingly popular all over the world and fans as young as 12 are being taught from old and new books and unfortunately too many pirates have circulated ny ripper and our other tunes illegally (heck, just google violators ny ripper and you would be amazed what you could find out about us!)...its not monetary thing but a ethical thing that when musicians like us worked and sweated, bled, died, played their craft with the working class punk ethic, you might understand how upset we get at pirating/bootlegging on the net!! But we still are amazed at how much we ate noted in rock history books and fan sites after our forming in 1978 and what many revere the classic song ny ripper has become! We have at least 3 covers recently of ny ripper by the Abusers from norway, Plugz (a girl group!) and others who have put it on thier records....man, after 30 years not many bands can add tis to any resume...anywayz, post your address on the web and ill get you a copy foryour own use!!! Again, thanks and Peace!!!Rich Wretch (and Violators!)

When I Brought the Feel Luck Punk Compilation back in the 90s from a legitimate record shop, I had no idea it was a Bootleg until some time later. I had grown up on English punk, but I had never heard of any of the bands on this compilation, but the music blew me away, this to me was the real deal, punk wise. Back in my younger days swapping home made tapes was how we got to hear a lot of music that we would never hear elsewhere and much of it was not available to buy on the local market unless you was lucky enough to find it on import. Anyway, in my additional research I found that NY Ripper also turned up on a compilation called "Killed By Death Vol 3", It is not clear weather this compilation is also a bootleg.
I recently read somewhere that only about 18% all the music ever released in still available to purchase Legally. Very many of the albums I have seen on this blog and many other blogs all over the internet are posting music not otherwise available to buy, but several albums that I have discovered I have been able to find and purchase a reissue and several more are on my shopping list. I would never have discovered these excellent records otherwise.
It is good that some owners of the music are pointing out to bloggers about reissues of their music so that they can remove any objectionable posts.Thank you Rich.
Good luck with Your Reissue and perhaps you can keep us posted as to a CD release, as I don't have A turntable any more.

Sorry to bother you kind folks again but just another heads up to Mr. Roddus and Ms. C. due to another major bootleg of which you mentioned KBD Series (Killed by death, especially vol#3 has New York Ripper illegally on as well as many other artists who have chased the originator whose name and id are now known and is being taken to court by MANY people from RIAA, BMI and as well as individual artists who own the songrights and recording rights who this pirate and felon lowlife who if he just asked permission , many folks would have given him the ok to use certain stuff)...he is from sweden and originally thats where the first pandoras box of copyright infringement started...and his illegal label, redrum, has spwned his many reissues which he has made a nice little $$$$$PROFIT over the years and no artist has seen one iota of cooperatio before the record big guns are now after him(ASCAP, BMI and RIAA) and anybody who has it knowingly on thier website for downloads are now recieving cease and desist letters finally!!! Anywayz, I dont wanna see great, honest folks and appeciaters of good music like you guy get involved with the whole KBD Series of bootlegs! I Hope all is well with you and yours and I will be in touch!!! Peace and God Bless !!!-Richie Wretch(Violators)

Rich,

Thanks for stopping by again. I have been provided with a new link for the Fell Lucky Punk compilation minus your Track 7. Feel free to download a copy for your piece of mind.

I was not also aware that the KBD albums were also bootlegs. And obviously people have bought it on Amazon not knowing this fact.

Perhaps you could shed some light on perhaps which artists would be obliging to have some of their rare or out of print available and how one would go about requesting their permission. It would be invaluable to have your experience here Rich as no matter how research one does, there is always a tendency to make mistakes and assumptions that can obviously backfire sometimes. I recently got special permission from a Canadian country rock band "Whisky Hollow" who allowed me to share one of their albums and I am not adverse to writing emails for such things, if it means that I know the post won't be removed or I get a DCMA notice or cease & desist letters.

I also would like to formally apologize for any inconvenience & distress that you are facing in seeing your records being flagrantly abused by bootleggers. I don't put myself in that category. I respect all artists work and this site is a memorial to many lost albums and artists that re either most rare indeed or OOP.

Hope you can stop by again Rich and dispel the myth of rarities etc.

I Am Yours

The funny thing is no one would even care or know about the Violators and many other KBD bands if they hadn't been booted or had their songs covered by later punk bands. These in most cases were low print run records by obscure bands 30 years ago that were almost totally forgotten, but brought back into the spotlight by a few punk record collectors and historians. Hundreds of people will pick up a 70s punk re-issue only because they first heard the band through a bootleg, website MP3, comp tape someone made for them or another band covering their song. It's weird to me how a band doesn't realize that they were actually helped through fans passing around their music and keeping it alive... it's how most of us have first heard many KBD-era bands.

Hey Rich,

I cannot seem to find the comment u mention within this thread that you are insulted by. However I deleted a comment made in Russian I think which I did not know what it meant.

I hope this satisfies you at this time and please refer me to the appropriate post/thread in the chance that I missed the necessary post and comment that offended you.

Hey Rich,

I apologize for missing the offending comment the first time I scanned the comments on this thread. You are right i should not have published it. Lee was very arrogant and his threatening language slipped by me. I thought initially he was just ranting but reading it again after I managed to find it right under my eyes his attitude is well wrong and therefore it is not deleted forever and should not be trawled by Googlebot again.

I apologize again Rich my man and hope to tread on your creative toes again.

My hublest apologizes and will remain more vigilant in the future when I am vetting peoples comments.

Yours
