Hmmm. Thanks a lot for this, the kind words, my nom-de-plume as a dl-link etc. After two listens, I'd say it's an example of why good sidemen should stay there. He's done great work with Bowie, Lennon and Silver Condor but this one is pretty bland, weak vox & tunes BUT with blistering guitar.
Trolinga, Leo
Hi Leo,
You are of course right in saying that the guitar work is awesome and maybe why he should stick to what is good at. But I have to disagree a little bit. Even though it was his debut, it is still a very good listen I feel. I will let you know of your nezxt item by thwem real soon and that might change your mind as there is much more maturity in that one.

"STAR OF THE STREET" is the closest thing to CHARLIE'S "JOHNNY HOLD BACK" in terms of obtuse achohol abuse meanderings. Also, even though RAZOR'S EDGE is technically better, his 1st LP is the freshest. His lead singer brings to mind JEFF BECK's on ROUGH AND READY and ORANGES. Rock on EARL!
