I have had it for a while also myanmar. Apart from listening to it many times. It started off as ALBW. So it has had to split also.

Thanks for your approval.

THEY HAVE ANOTHER ALBUM CALLED "SHOE SHOP COUNTRY(LIVE FOR TODAY)"...THIS COULD REFER TO A LIVE PERFORMANCE OR A BOOTLEG OF THE LIVE PERFORMANCE.....IT WAS RELEASED IN 1975 IN PERIDOT,ARIZONA....HOPE THAT HELPS...

ARUN said...

IN REFERENCE TO MY PREVIOUS COMMENT...PERIDOT APPARENTLY SEEMS TO BE THE RECORD LABEL THAT RELEASED THE SHOE SHOP COUNTRY ALBUM.....AND IT WAS NOT RELEASED IN PERIDOT ARIZONA....SORRY FOR THE BLOOPER.......

on the comments section of the page,a user declares himself a touring member of the band.....which obviously means they performed live....maybe you can get more info from him.....

great post! Amazing rarity this one!!!
Dammed!!! a mono rip?
I prefer a second generation rip, but stereo, than a first generation rip mono!
what a shame!

PS: at another famous blog was post exactly this mono version of this mega rare. Unbelievable anyone noticed that! are you the original ripper???

Sorry that you are not entirely happy with this Anon. I am not the original ripper, but did do xtra work to it as it was album wrapped and had some audio glitches near the end of some tracks.

If you check properly no-one else has posted this mega rarity yet or even back dated it. If you check these are my updates on various blogs that either link to me or get updates from totallyfuzzy.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks to osurec for the rip like you say isabelbc. Unfortuneately I am not a member of this elite forum and unable to read the thread.

The album was wrapped when I got it and did do further work on it to sort some audio/decibel glitches and split it and therefore retag etc.

But yes many thanks to the original ripper :)

I can tell you a little about this band. I was a drummer in Illusion when we opened for Bronin Hogman back in 1976 or 1977 in Nashua NH (I still have the advertising flyer). They did indeed perform live and were much more impressive live than you would probably gather from this album. They would play large local venues (1000+) and they brought a huge stage, light show and sound reinforcement gear that could have filled a 10,000 seat arena. They even had a grand piano on stage. Their original songs had incredible energy live and that didn't translate well to a recording. I still remember them opening the show with a cover of Queen's "Now I'm here". They had two singers on opposite ends of the stage where the spot would alternately light each singer for the "Here I Stand (here I stand)" it was very impressive and clever.
They were considered a great local band and were a must attend event whenever they played in town (which wasn't very often). I think they hailed from upper New Hampshire.

My dad was the bassist for this band.....love seeing it on here and reading the comments!

Peter Baron was the creative force behind the band. I was the bass player (thanks, daughter-o-mine for turning me on to this site). The band broke up in 1978 due to creative differences. I have set up an email account if anyone would like more information: broninhogman@yahoo.com

Hi,
My name is Roger, and I'm the original Bass Player for BRONIN HOGMAN (BHB). Just to clarify a few points, LIVE FOR TODAY/SHOE SHOP COUNTRY is a 45 that was recorded at EAB Recording Studios in Lewiston, ME in 1975. The engineer (from Buddah Records) was Ed Boucher. He was a slave-driver (thank you), who wouldn't let us go until the songs "cooked".
The studio was in an old mill building on what seemed like the 100th floor. We had to carry Denis' B3 up many, many flights of steps (the elevator, apparently, was not working).
LFT/SSC entered the WKBR TOP 30 (in July 1975) at #28 and moved up to #18 the next week. It got really good local airplay. I have much more information (too much to post here), about the early days of BHB. If you're interested in any more info, you can email me at BroninHogmanBand@live.com

This sounds like exactly the kind of band I enjoyed listening to way back when. Judging by the posts I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy listening to in the present. Thanks for posting this one. cheers.....JeffH
