"The Sons Of Champlin" are a US psychedelic rock band fronted by Bill Champlin, who is also in the band "Chicago". There sound is hard to describe, but have profound lyrics and plenty of jazzy saxophone to keep most of hooked. "The Sons" is their second album from 1969, not to be confused with the self-titled "The Sons Of Champlin" from 1975. This is another one from Carlos' wishlist. Enjoy this rarity folks.

Hi Ch. thanks for this vinyl, not in my collection, I do have their 1st, but missed this one couple of years ago. This guys were so(u) good in the early years, and this 2nd lp its a clear example.
hope you dont mind, I put some info about em.
Cheers & again, great choice.
"Their debut double LP Loosen Up - Naturally successfully captures their live sound. By this time Myers had left the band to join the army and Jim Beem had also left. Essentially a loose jazz and drug influenced band, commercial success eluded them. Later in '69 they changed their name to The Sons and their second LP saw a return of Jim Beem on trumpet."(...)
here u have more stuff about this band
dropped in september 08.

This was not rated as highly as their debut but listning to it now it don't dissapoint, I just love that Jazz element to my Pop/rock, this is quality stuff.

This was a prize recording on the old vinyl trading circuit back in the day.
Phew! What we paid for those records, only to find them popping up in here now.
I say . . . ANYTHING you can find by The Sons of Champlin will provide a good to great listening experience, never mind Chicago.
