Nice one -- been wanting to hear this! Thanks and keep on!
Hey Carlos,

You are very welcome and there is couple more on their way soon my friend.

Hi whiteray,
Thanks for appreciating this post. Drop back soon.

DLing it now... I'll listen carefully for digi-flaws this evening.
They were pretty pronounced at the beginning of Last Chance Dance's first cut (with a minor one near the tail end of that cut).
There was also one minor glitch in 'The Last Thing That I Do' on that album, but just one short one... Too bad it's a quiet song.
If you haven't re-packaged Last Chance yet, you might consider re-ripping that cut too.
FWIW, Last Chance road is no longer a hippie haven... as property values increased most of the folks who bought land up there when it was inexpensive ended up selling to software developer types, and the road is no longer a glorified rutted jeep trail, but a fully paved two-laner so as not to chip their precious beemers paint.
There are still a couple of old-timers left on Last Chance, but they're pretty reclusive.
That sort of describes other areas around here as well such as Aptos and Corralitos(California, near Santa Cruz).
Sigh... What passes for 'progress'...
This one is a classic! So many good tunes here! Thanks!
A few minuscule digital glitches (I think it's caused by the archiving, which is very cpu intensive)... I never hear that with dl'd torrents, but that's minor stuff.
Two things... One I've repaired.
The track marker between Turkish Tappy and Boonville Massacre is way off and leaves a gap in the former.
I've taken the liberty of fixing that and re-ripping these tracks @ 192kbps with tagging.
I don't know what you are using to rip your tracks Chuntao, but if it's simpler for you to grab my re-rips just let me know.
The other issue, that I CAN'T fix... Clipping. According to the re-mix software I use (Mixcraft 4), my pod's volume setting, and my ear, these tracks were ripped too hot and they are clipped.
When I re-ripped the two tracks I mentioned earlier, I brought the level down about 1db (still hot), and 1.5 db down from the current level would be closer to normal, get rid of the 'crunch' from waveform flat-topping, and improve the dynamic range considerably.
Not a complaint... I take what I can get... Just noting it.
Leigh
Da Buffalo aka Leigh,
Thanks for your efforts in fixing the glitches on the Cat Mother album. I never got them from torrents nor did I rip them from vinyl myself. They are very rare and therefore the person who I got it from did not do it correctly. I managed to acquire a differently tagged copy of Lst Chance and it has the same digi-swiggles for about 5 seconds of Track 1. There is obviously an overall problem with the original ripper . I apologiz e for this minor inconvenince and appreciate your endeavors in trying to correct them. I am very interested in the xtra work you have done Leigh and would gladly welcome an improved example.
I hope that is does not spoil the feel of not just a very rare album and a very special also Leigh, but like you say, it's minor stuff. Well not all the time.
As for the software you mention, I do not know of that one and will try to get a trial version to hone my skills.
Very good of you to drop by and also help us all out. I look forward to your new copy and let me know of any rarities that may elude you.

The two tracks I re-ripped with the markers in the correct location, Turkish Tappy & Booneville Massacre, are here
As I mentioned, I cut about 1 db off the volume, but it's barely audible in relation to the original tracks.
The audio format is the same, 192kbps, and they are already tagged.
Mixcraft is a full featured audio mixer complete with 'sound kit' and a host of other elaborate functions such as time stretching and beat matching.
It's not as inexpensive as it was a few years back, but it's absolutely on par with SoundForge and other professional audio mixing/recording software and is much less expensive.
Here is the link to the download page with writeup (They have a full-version, time-limited trial version (I think one month) available.
Again, thanks for making these albums available Chuntao.
Leigh/ Da Buffalo Amongst Wolves,
I got those two tracks and wanna thank you also for the extra work you put into them. They have improved tremendously, I must say. That is a cracking program. Many thanks. Every little helps and on this occasion is a real boon to have someone on board who knows their stuff. My boyfriend, plays the decks and mixes dance music all the time and he uses progrtams like DJ Mixstation, Ableton and MAJIX. So I will give him the link to this specialized software you gave me (Mixcraft and see what he thinks). Obviously it can fix many audio problems but not all and when it does it sounds great.
Many many thanks and also your appreciation of such a rare album and such a passionate place in the world you are from.
Ask for anything and I will either find you a link or just find it and post it ;]
Your gratefully
Chuntao
Leigh/ Da Buffalo Amongst Wolves :
I too want to thank you, and may I be so bold as to say welcome to this community. You've done good.
Beteasta, Leo Rattans.
I totally agree Leo. Da Buff' did brilliant. We are not worthy.
C.
I did same work on the 2 tracks (I know Turkish Tappy note/by/note y'know), on diff equipment though (SoundForge), but I was selfish enough to forget to offer it to others..
cut my head off w/a 劍!
i am NOT worthy....
Track #6 - Strike a Match and Light Another... was a favorite of mine in the early 1970s when a band in which a friend of mine played (Baddog) in Bowling Green, Ohio, used to cover it sometimes at gigs in the college town where we both lived. A great party song for sure.
The link to the 2 tracks that were fixed is dead. Are they somewhere else or can the you please re-post them? It's great to see that there are others who enjoy this band as much I have. And "Strike A Match..." has been a favorite of mine ever since I bought the LP when it first came out. I appreciate your great posts and hopefully you can help me out with these tracks. Tanx FlashG
been looking for this for years! thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you...and a million times more.
Lala
I can put them up in the next day or two. My self-hosted site is no longer, but I'll put them on another site and put the link here.
