Miles From India - A Celebration of the Music of Miles Davis 2008

Now how great is this!! I have been looking for this everywhere - I can't wait to hear how this comes off!! Miles Davis just has to be one of those people whose music doesn't fit categories. I remember hearing Bitches Brew as a hard core rock fan and being astonished, then I dug back and listened to the Birth of Cool and the Gil Evans arranged albums and was equally mystified. Am I the only one to own a copy of Gil Evans plays the music of Jimi Hendrix???

What a great late Xmas prezzie

Thx for your sharing of that beautiful piece of world music. Could be the work of Miles & Teo nowadays. Given the interest of the Dark Prince for Indian music, that treatment of some classics of the 20th century is not mere exotica. Miles lives!

Zardoz1984,

You are welcome to this legends work being re-worked. I have Beb & fellow readers to thank for their wider knowledge than me. I am only a vessel to deliver these gems.

So thank you 4 your comments & hope to keep you entertained for some time yet.

i thought i had left a thank you here last week or so, but for some reason it's gone. perhaps i hit the wrong button when sending.

anyway, thanks for featuring this date. i heard this performed at last years s.f. jazz festival, but i didn't know that a studio recording had been made. excellent stuff here! i appreciate your sharing it with us. btw -- has anyone had problems with 'spanish key' opening? it downloaded for me, but appears to be corrupt.
