Froggie Beaver - From The Pond 1973

"Froggie Beaver" is not just an excellent name for any band, but its name just seems to sum up this US Prog/Psych rock band. They were only around for three years, but somehow managed to convey a real cool sound to their catchy songs. They have an excellent tempo and the writing is clear & concise. Trust me when I say this is really rather fine piece of work and it's a shame that this was their only album from 1973. Again grab get this quirky, yet charming album HERE first . Now posted by bluescentar.blogspot.com 31 Jan' 09 (with same link).

This will literally be 'A Hard Day's Night"...

Music Emporium - Music Emporium 1969

This sole, eponymous album by 60's American super cool psychedelic rock band "Music Emporium", is another lost treasure that has a very good feel to it. This is one for the serious collector containing 10 of the original tracks. A special CD with 5 bonus tracks, instrumentals of 5 of these 10 tracks, was released on Sundaze records in 2001. FYI, two blogs featured this album recently, but the link is dead on one & the other blog has been removed. So grab it here folks.

Deek Hoi - The Golden Country 2007

Here at RARE MP3, we try to strive to bring y'all different flavors and styles of music, but concentrating on one vital fact - it has to be rare. And this album "The Golden Country" by New Weird America band "Deek Hoi" is most rare indeed, even though it was released in 2007. This short album is an eclectic mix of pychedelic folk and unusual languidness. It is hard to put a genre on this band; its casual lyrics are deep and powerful, but the singer has a nonchelant detachment from the whole chilled out experience. Anyway, this album may not be everyone's cup of tea, because this album is for Zer0_II over at Digital Meltd0wn, who not only has it on his wishlist and does great work maintaining his blogroll, music blog & forum for many of us and posting other people's requests that I hope this satisfies his wants for a change. So this one is for you dude and thanks for allowing me to help you out. You deserve it. Get this here FIRST again folks.

This is one album everyone has to listen to before they get abducted by aliens. Prepare to be blown away with this album.

Joe Byrd & The Field Hippies - The American Metaphysical Circus 1969

The psychedelic album "The American Metaphysical Circus" is a trippy fusion of rock, jazz and pop. It was ahead of its time and a very controversial album in its day. Out of print and in vogue, "Joe Byrd & The Field Hippies" is a must have for the 60's collector man. I also cannot tell the trouble I had not just converting it, but my download service getting it to bite. Even when I ripped it, it still seemed to be somewhat encrypted. Anyway, I think it's fine now @ 320kbps and I am posting this as the only other blogger who posted this (Heli0tr0pe) over at heavysugarradio is showing a 404 and the megaupload link has been removed. Therefore, you can only get it here folks. Any problems please let me know. Enjoy.

A Band Called O - Within Reach 1976

"A Band Called O" formerly called 'Parlour Band', were a rock band that hailed from the Channel Island of Jersey. They were actually one of the late, great John Peel's favorite bands and their brand of smooth soft rock has a real unpretentious flavor. Often called 'O-Band', 'Within Reach' is their third album from 1976 and has excellent harmonies, cool riffs and lovely vocals. All together making this a very worthwhile album. This is on request from Steve who left an honest comment recently and therefore deserves an honest piece of music. Your up mate.

Ronnie Wood - Slide On This 1992

"Slide On This" is the fifth studio album by Rolling Stone "Ronnie Wood" from 1992. It's global sales were very poor at the time, therefore making it pretty rare. I am very surprised about this albums history, because it not only shows sound writing, but an excellent demonstration of his singing ability also. This post is for loopy who left a request at hitmewitit. Tune in dude. Please remember to support the artists ! Airlord - Clockwork Revenge 1977

"Airlord" were a progressive rock band from New Zealand from the late 70's. "Clockwork Revenge" is a deleted album and very rare and was the bands only, but epic album. It starts out with what sounds a bit of a cacophony, mutating in to a very theatrical track and finishing off with excellent prog rock. If you get through this first track, then you will then appreciate the rest of the album. It has excellent guitar solos and can be quite freaky in places, but has a uniqueness that makes it unmissable.

Gordon Lightfoot - Star Track Profile 1 September 1986

Hey folks, only me. I am going to post the second rare radio recording of Gordon Lightfoot on 'Westwood One', California recorded on 1 September 1986. Gordon celebrated his 70th birthday yesterday, and therefore it seems fitting to round off this music hero's' legacy with this. I also would like to draw true fans of Gord's music to comments left in my previous posts from the moderator of a Lightfoot community.

Daniel - Phoenix 1976-78 (Very Rare US Psych Rock)

The album "Phoenix" by now American actor & producer "Jason D. Holt", born Daniel Tsadik Vodianoy, was a demo only release back in 1979. And it is very rare on vinyl. It was recorded between 1976-78 and there is a lot of cello, excellent guitar work and poignant lyrics on this album to keep you hooked. Incidently this guy was somewhat of a child prodigy, learning piano, cello and guitar all by the age of 12 and he even befriended "Elvis" & "Tom Jones". and he has also worked with Cat Stevens. He has a very distinctive, yet appealing voice and mixes it up with rock & folk, making this a very worthwhile listen. GET it here FIRST.

Gordon Lightfoot - Star Track Profile 3 October 1983

I offer up a rare Gordon Lightfoot Radio Broadcast from 1983, when he appeared on 'Westwood One', Culver City, California. This is a one hour broadcast where we get to learn more about this folk singers' music and how he perceives himself. This is a very personal and frank discussion with many beautiful tracks featuring throughout. For the true fan. Please refer to comments section of recent Lightfoot post to learn how to be part of the Gordon Lightfoot community. I was also informed that Gordon actually turned 70 today. Nice one Gord.

Spectrum - The Light Is Dark Enough 1970 (Ultra Rare Psych Pop

Well, if you good folks are ready and are not lagging behind too much, I hope y'all ready for my next slice of pie. "The Light Is Dark Enough" offers us a plethora of yummy psychedelic pop by "Spectrum" from 1970 and is very rare. A fellow blogger Lisa posted this back in January and the links are long dead. So I have made this my mission for some time now, not just to satisfy my curiosity, but to kill two birds with one stone, as this album is also on J. Richter's wishlist. And I know he will do anything to have this. And since he is also a collector of rare music ... well you get the point. Anyway, this is a peach of an album that starts out with an excellent cover of "The Beatles" track, "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" and keeps a lot of that slick momentum for the rest of this groovy album. Get it here for the FIRST time in ages folks.

Nutz - Nutz Too 1975 (Very Rare UK Hard Rock)

Well folks, for my installment of rare albums, I offer up a once deleted album, until last year that is, by British Hard Rock band "Nutz". They were formed in Leever-pool in 1973, and were very popular on the NWOBHM scene, but sadly and undeservedly, never seemed to hit the big time. Led by Dave Lloyd, they did manage to procure gigs with 'Black Sabbath' & 'Budgie', which still didn't help their cause. Sadly, after four albums, which I have three of at present, they split and reformed in '79 changing their name to 'Rage' (UK). "Nutz Too" is obviously their second album and has real raw flair, to what can only be described as meaty rock. And this album is on request from Lord Haw Haw who I think is either psychic or 'Nutz Too". FYI, this is the original from 'A&R' that contains 11 tracks, where the re-release contains 5 bonus live tracks. Lap it up folks. And grab it here FIRST again.

Beckett - Beckett 1974 (UK Prog Rock)

This self-titled album from UK Prog Rock band "Beckett" was their only album from 1974. They have a huge following in the South Tyneside area of England. It is worth noting that Iron Maiden covered "A Rainbow's Gold", which is featured on the B-Side of their 'Two Minutes To Midnight" single. And a few members of "Beckett" went on to form the band "Back Street Crawler" with the ex-guitarist of 'Free', Paul Kossoff. Get this here FIRST.

He is a total maestro and produces music that is simply inspiring and so charming to listen to. This guy has worked with everyone, he also acts and plays so many instruments, he is in essence a one man band. Download this little beauty today folks.

Apple - UK Singles Collection Volume 01 (Bootleg)

Hi there folks, I am offering up a really neat bootleg series that contains all UK Apple recordings. Unbelievable right. I strongly urge you to get it quick, as I am unsure about the validity of them and whether they will stand up to scrutiny. Therefore I will just post volume 01 at this time and see if the powers that be allow this rare bootleg collection to remain. I hope that it does and I don't get slapped with another DCMA thing again. If that is the case, I will post the rest of the collection and I don't need to worry. I mean they are bootlegs, after all. Right. Right. Anyway enjoy the music as there are one or two beauties in here. Get them here FIRST.

Autumn - Oceanworld 1977 (Rare UK Prog)

These 5 tracks by obscure UK prog band "Autumn" have been locked away in the rock vaults since the seventies, until they were released in 1998 on Autumn Records. Long overdue in my book. But it did not stop some members of this band to go to on to reach great heights with the likes of "Hawkwind" and "The Enid" to name a few. Yes, they are rare and very desirable and yes, very good. "Oceanworld" is full of ostentatious and seemless instrumental tracks and is sure, however short, to stir your imagination.
