Zoot Money's Big Roll Band - It Should've Been Me 1965

"It Should Have Been Me" was the debut album by 'The Big Roll Band" back in 1965. His brand of rhythm & blues is incontrovertibly awesome. He is a total maestro and produces music that is simply inspiring and so charming to listen to. This guy has worked with everyone, he also acts and plays so many instruments, he is in essence a one man band. Download this little beauty today folks.

Cool, listing to this now and it sounds exellent, supriseed at the brass section/ Jazz influence, wasn't expecting that.
Anyhow, what attracred me to this was that Zoot Money later played with a guy called Steve Ellis(Love Affair) in a band Called "Ellis". Their Album from '72 called "Riding on the Crest of a Slump" is an old favorite of mine that I found in a second hand book shop in the early 90s, But when I sold all my LPs in 98 I couldn't get it on CD untill it was finally resissued last Year. Any way it is worth checking out.

I've tried downloading a number of your albums but everytime I go to the Easy share page up comes the same identiy code box with what appears to me to be z8m6u. I type this in and it says its incorrect. Any ideas what it should be, and isn't it strange that all those I've tried are asking for the same code ?

Tony,

Soory to hear that you and others have been in the same loop. This is because that easy-share only allows 15MB per hour. So if you stop by later you should get what you need no problem. ok. And by the way easy-share has changed and there is no need to input codes any more.

Good luck

First of all many thanks for all the great stuff by Zoot Money.
A real character of the 60s and one that deserves a lot more recognition…correct me if I’m wrong but his recorded legacy has been poorly treated by reissuing labels (I know few things have appeared over the last couple of years or so…) and he always constituted a gap in my collection.
…or maybe it was it just me looking in a different direction, always preferring the rawer approach of bands like the Pretty Things, the early Stones etc and simply the 4-5 piece Beat groups like the Animals, Them etc etc
I like Zoot’s vocals and at times he reminds me of Graham Bond, some of my fave tracks here in fact makes me think of the Organisation, like their great version of “Uncle Willie” and what I think is the best of the album, saved for last, “Zoot’s suite”.
ps
by the way,the order of the songs once it's downloaded is very different!
Great to have those bonus tracks too (not listed in the post)
