Deek Hoi - The Golden Country 2007

Here at RARE MP3, we try to strive to bring y'all different flavors and styles of music, but concentrating on one vital fact - it has to be rare. And this album "The Golden Country" by New Weird America band "Deek Hoi" is most rare indeed, even though it was released in 2007. This short album is an eclectic mix of pychedelic folk and unusual languidness. It is hard to put a genre on this band; its casual lyrics are deep and powerful, but the singer has a nonchelant detachment from the whole chilled out experience. Anyway, this album may not be everyone's cup of tea, because this album is for Zer0_II over at Digital Meltd0wn, who not only has it on his wishlist and does great work maintaining his blogroll, music blog & forum for many of us and posting other people's requests that I hope this satisfies his wants for a change. So this one is for you dude and thanks for allowing me to help you out. You deserve it. Get this here FIRST again folks.

First of all thank you very much for the kind words. I've only had a chance to hear one track off of this album, so I hope the rest of it holds up well. This group comes from a city about 100 miles from where I live. If I enjoy this whole album, I'll probably buy it and try to catch one of their shows. I don't know how you managed to find a copy of this, but thank you very much. Take care.

Hey Zer0_II,

Thank you v. much dude :) I hope you find it to your liking. I'm listening to it again as I write, making sure it downloaded ok without errors. What you think? It's got a unknown variable to it, making it quite heavy but relaxing @ the same time.

And as getting this little devil is concerned well a great magician never reveals his secrets ;] Like I say, A lot, but not all of my posts are first ups.

And I hope that I don't get penalized for upping a new album. Only old dude only old :) I jest of course.

Anyway glad to be of service & will check you wishlist soon.

PS Does that mean you will be going to one of their concerts then?

I've been very busy the last couple of days, so I'm only just now listening to this. As far as catching a show, I probably would once I have the money, depending on where/if they tour or play out. I'm not sure what to think of this album to be honest. I certainly like the music, but I can't help but find the male's vocals (Who I believe is John Ferguson from Apples In Stereo) on tracks 2 & 3 to be rather annoying. I really enjoyed "California", which was the track that made me want to listen to the entire album. I'll probably have to listen to this one a few times before I can make a good judgement call on it. It's certainly different though. Thank you once again. Take care.

Yes Zer0_II,

It's one of those albums that will probably grow on you. But str8 off the bat it's unusual to say the least. I found that there were lots of good bits within tracks, but I liked the way some of them had a gradual build up.

Well, I'll let you s l o w l y make your decision on this one, but I am happy you are happy :]

Thanx for dropping by again & if you are struggling for obscure then you know where to look.

Chow for now
