A Band Called O - Within Reach 1976

"A Band Called O" formerly called 'Parlour Band', were a rock band that hailed from the Channel Island of Jersey. They were actually one of the late, great John Peel's favorite bands and their brand of smooth soft rock has a real unpretentious flavor. Often called 'O-Band', 'Within Reach' is their third album from 1976 and has excellent harmonies, cool riffs and lovely vocals. All together making this a very worthwhile album. This is on request from Steve who left an honest comment recently and therefore deserves an honest piece of music. Your up my friend.

06. Still Burning (5:59)

Hi Chuntau

Thank you and thank you again!

I have to say that I was rendered nearly speechless when I saw this up today. :)

After accepting my apologetic comments (see 'v.a. - greasy truckers' comment box!)with real grace, you go and top it off by responding to my request with style and astonishing speed. I really am very grateful, not to mention impressed!

It all goes to prove that you must be both a scholar (of music) and a gentleman.

I raise a glass to you sir! :)

Hey Steve,

How's trix? Good ;) Much appreciation for comments dude.
Well what can I say except apologies were accepted str8 off the bat & it doesn't really take a second to write a short thank you - coz people never know where that might lead, as it goes to show in this example. Not that I expect comments on every single d/l mind, that would be pedantic, but if you visit the site from to time like ...

Well, I'm glad made your day. You picked a really cool band. And I guess you had been looking everywhere else for a while, that you probably gave up hope.

FYI, This album has 3 bonus trax (12 in total) SE CD that are not included on this post. I will add them soon and if you check this week I will go ahead & post more.

And it just goes to show how right your Gran was. Yeah. And my motto is , if you don't ask you don't get. Right. And manners don't cost anything, nor does these rarities that I try 90% of the time to post FIRST.

Therefore I encourage everyone, to leave comments with hard to find requests. Not only can I be kept on my toes, but the requester can feel chuffed when they get a post dedicated to them. it's better than detaching oneself from the process of delivering quality music by lifting all info from answers.com wikipedia All Music Group, Amazon etc etc and not revealing the sources, thereby misleading readers that you wrote this very articulate piece of writing yourself.

Anyway, hope that you drop by soon & remember if have any more requests I will try & not disappoint ;]

Chuntao

PS Go ahead & have a glass on me Steve. Make sure it's a Chateau Haut-Brion 2000 ;)

Many thanks for this one. I've loved "Paradise Blue" ever since hearing it on Alan Freeman's Saturday afternoon show many eons ago!

I love this record...I was able to get a EAC off a friend a couple of years ago. A SMile Is Diamond was a MAJOR hit in the Upstate New York Area (Buffalo ROCHESTER and Syracuse...300 miles outside NYC) way back when it was new. one of the few bands from that era I can still listen to without cringing.

Duncanmusic,

Yes I think they are a very understated band. Very easy to listen to. And they are unpretentious also.

Thanks again Duncan for your comments :)

Hi Chuntao

I've just found your blog and I must say I am impressed with the music you are sharing, I have not found such a selection of great music like this before.
It's going to take me a while to browse through everything you have here.
In the meantime I wonder if I could ask a great favour, would it be possible to post the track "A Smile Is A Diamond" ripped at 320K ? This is a track that sounds great played LOUD on a big system and I would love to give it a spin at a mate's gig during the warm-up.
Sorry as a newcommer maybe I should not ask favours, but as you said above..."if you don't ask..."

Thanks again for sharing such a great collection.
