IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello folks. If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you will be aware of how much work goes in to maintaining it. It is a website after all. I am not here just to provide y'all with some of the world's rarest music. That is the easy part. Coz, even after taking sometimes months to track down a extremely rare album for example, there is nothing more natural for me than to share it with y'all. And if that means that I have to buy it myself, so be it. I am here as a conduit to the net itself. That means you, yes you, everyone of you are important to the structure of the blogging community. And as users of these websites, you are in a very unique and privileged position, insofar as being able to relate to all of us on a very personal basis every day, by telling us what you think, filling in polls in order to help us make more informed decisions and making completely out of this world requests and still somehow us managing to deliver. So without your obvious input in these matters, bloggers wouldn't be able to stay on the pulse. And it is with your continued vigilance, I ask that as much as y'all love the MUSIC, I prefer COMMENTS even more. It only takes two back clicks once the download has started to say a few words. So what y'all waiting for. The future is here. So make yourself be heard.

PS It would be helpful to post comments in relevant posts, stating which album you are commenting on, unless it is obvious from your comments. Otherwise it may take me longer to respond to these hidden comments. And please remember to leave a tag or nickname. The cooler, the better. I guess for general comments, well this one can keep going with as many threads as it takes. Thanks again.

Hey Chuntao - good point and let me start out by saying thanks for all the work you are doing. Although I haven't downloaded any of the music yet, I am subscribed to your blog and am enjoying looking at the selections. When I get time, I'll certainly be taking advantage (although with the thanks that is so well deserved).

yeah great blog, blah blah blah loads of great music never seen anywhere else on the net, blah blah blah. wow man this is fantastic blah blah blah. why do you use pass words and why have you hidden it blah blah blah, big waste of time blah blha blah

Chuntao said...

Top o the morning Lord Haw Haw,

I take it your are being facetious, that's why I published this etc and so on. FYI, I don't have pass words (unless you mean the code that you have to input at the download link) - they aren't my passwords but easy-share random generated codes. Also my blog isn't hidden as you wouldn't be able to see this site(again unless you mean the code again that you input at the download link which appears if you w8 15 seconds). But you are right with the fact that is a gr8 blog and ALOT of my music is not readily available on the net.

Now I hope this answers your concerns etc etc and so on type thing old timer blah blah blah blah blah blah

Chuntao said...

Hello Lord Haw Haw,

I received your apology as you were donloading something similar on another blog. Not a problem.

But I have to apologize coz I think I went to publish your comment and I can't find it. Therefore I must have accidently deleted it. So if you want to drop another comment I will try again. Or maybe I didn't delete but hasn't surfaced yet i'm not sure. Anyway, tx 4 retracting your statement. I thought you were being obtuse. No worries. Please write back.

I am yours

C.

lord haw haw said...

originally i was being obtuse, however, i have a flu fever/hot whiskey/medication buzz on and simply mixed up my p's and q's. as i said already i downloaded something from another site, thought i downloaded something from your exelent site and passed out. then when i woke up, i tried to open the files but there was a password required and i went to your site to look for it. duh. again thanks.

Chuntao said...

Hello again Lord Haw Haw,

I apologize for the misunderstanding. And hope you feel better soon. I know what site you mean where they offer 2 tracks from greasy truckers party album. That is not the case here and hope that you will visit soon, where you can enjoy non-passworded files.

As John Lennon said 'there are no problems only solutions'.

Therefore drop by soon & be sure to make a request for those rarities that elude you.

C.

Again thanks for the oppertunities to listen to and download some classics that would be near immposible for most to find themselves

Great blog and what a great service (and fun quest) to hunt down rare recordings! Thx for the heads up on your existence.

One I've been looking awhile for is Maxxium '68, I guess it has the origins of Strawberry Fields Forever and Smoke on the Water on it (not by the bands that made those songs famous). That's what I've heard anyway. I'm curious about it.

Keep up the good work!

Thanx for a lot of interesting stuff. Lots of bands here Ive never heard of and its sooo sweet to hear something for the first time.
Ive grabbed a mixed bunch.
Rabbit (cause Ive used that "name" as a nick on the interweb for 12 years and the cover made me laugh), Aardvark, Froggie Beaver (which was really good) and today Im grabbing Solaris-Martian Chronicles and Joe Byrd and the field hippies.

These last two just for the covers, your writeups and the fantastic opportunity to hear something Ive never heard before.

Thanx.

SG said...

Chuntao,

I really, really enjoyed the John Parr "Restless Heart" song! A complete child and fanatic of the 80s music videos, I believe this is a pinnacle song, causing me to reflect on my own life.

Since it was named "Running Away With You" on the movie "The Running Man", this caused me grief years ago since I was never able to locate it. Like many others, I had kept the ending movie credits for the song and just listened to that. I had all but given up hope any other version was available until I learned it was produced under the "Restless Heart" name and that there's even a very rare 12" version on vinyl record that's over 5 min long! I've also now watched the low quality music video and it's very nice too :))

Although The Running Man OST is incomplete without this song, you've helped complete my 80's memories and I send you my biggest thanks!

Has anyone heard of a band called BEOWOLF? Think they were around late 80s early 90s. Curiously, they featured THREE Lead Guitars, which gave them a very distinctive sound. I'm sure I had an album by them on vinyl. The mists of time and moving between several houses over the years, somewhere this album's gone missing.
HELP! If anyone knows where I could find a copy of this album, I'd be very grateful.

Its a shame that people dont leave comments in the blog...
really...its always the same...
some get 5 o 10 album in one day without saying nothing...no thanks...no opinions..nothing...
I think most of them are ghosts...
really.

I said...ban all of them! (lol)
well...not all.. but some.

Chuntao I think that this is right way to make things clear.

Happy New Year friend. Yes I have tried my best to get readers to make some kind of comment & I usually get round to answering them. It gives my blog the personal touch. But you are right, they are ghosts - the majority of them. I mean I have had one reader who has taken over 100 downloads since my blog has started and not even a thanks. It shows what kind of person you are deasling with in real life when it only takes a couple words of appreciation.

Someone said the other day 'thanks for a thankless job'. They couldn't have put it better. Coz it is a thankless job Pablo.

Well thank you again Pablo fo your comments & of course your much respected support.

I'm still enjoying your blog, but I think you might have a problem. Yesterday and this morning when I go to download I get sent to this address when the timer runs out...http://76.74.239.143/zqpqwioqewoiqa/pdf.php?id=9364&vis=1...then I get a message from my protection center that it has blocked this...(bloodhound.exploit.196 or 213) this only happens on your site. I don't know if any others are having this same problem, but thought you might like to know and maybe look into it. I do get to download after 2 or 3 attempts. Thanks again for a great site. I appreciate what you are doing!!

Tom,

I have looked in2 your query & the address you give cannot be found. Sometimes easy-share is doing maintenance etc and perhaps this where you are experiencing these time-outs. I haven't banned you in case you think that as I notice from my logs you have left various comments and visit on a regular basis.

Therefore I can only apologize for any inconvenience caused in the interim & hope that things will rectify itself soon.

Hello,

I've only just discovered your blog and am thrilled to see so much great rare music. I like most everything but 60's British Beat is one of my favorites. Anyway, it's as they say; "one man's trash is another man's treasure". The good thing about being able to hear these rare albums is to be able to discover if I like them or not. If I don't, I'm equally appreciative of getting the chance to find out without spending a fortune that I can't afford.

Also, I've been doing a bi-weekly podcast at http://chefdave.podamatic.com Nothing fancy but sort of my way of giving back to the music blogging community. It's sort of all over the place as far as musical styles but has an emphasis on sixties.

Cheers and thanks for all the great music,

Dave

Dave,

Good of you to drop by & leave some decent comments also.

Yes there are advantages of getting to listen to some great rarities, before you have to shell out a small fortune for them. But remember there are more than one way to support some of these artists.

Thanks for your heads up on your latest veture & will be sure to drop by soon to see what you have on offer.

In the mean time help yourself to some of my treasure Dave :)

Hi Chuntao,

Great blog, i've just discovered it.
I agree that it's a matter of courtesy to send a comment. A way of saying thank you for researching and posting obscure albums. I wish i had the time to start up a blog, perhaps later on. I have one request. I'm a bit of a british blues maniac. I've been looking around for the sole Gordon Smith album on Blue Horizon. The track Diving Duck Blues was on the Super Duper blues compilation, an album I had bought over 40 years ago ... Gordon went to play with Kevin Coyne and has recorded a few other elusive albums on small blues labels on the Continent. The Blue Horizon album has been on my wish list for a long time.
Cheers,

Hello Chuntao.
I have just acquired the CD version of a Duane Eddy L.P. that I originally purchased in 1961. The title is 'Songs Of Our Heritage'and was produced by Lee Hazelwood. It's different from the usual twangy guitar that we're used to, as it's mainly Acoustic Guitar and Banjo. I don't know if it's of any interest to you, but if it is, I would like to share it with you. If this is the case, how do I upload it to you? Regards, Tom.

僻乐mp3 said...

magicman Tom,

Thanks for your very kind offer. I would love to acquire this rarity you mention.

Ok first of all you need to use an audio ripper to rip it to your computer at a decent bitrate 192 is acceptable and very good but 320kbps is best if the file is less than 100MB. Make sure you rip it slow whatever bitrate you chose as this is always best quality in the end. You can use something like Jetaudio or there are many free ones available "Audio Ripper/s" in Google where you get one month free trial also on many rippers. I do not endorse using a crack software. It will just screw with your system.

Now if you manage to get it ripped to desktop after you correctly Tag ie name the individual tracks then you need to use Winrare or 7zip which will put it into a compressed folder and you can upload this Archive to Megaupload, Rapidshare or easy-share or even zshare which doesn't require you to sign up which u might like best. You will get a link and well send it to me FIRST tOM ;] And I will post it for my readers and dedicate the post to yo for your effor. How does that sound magicman.

Let me know how you get on.

Tom,

Thanks for the link to the Duane Eddy album. Unfortuneately he link is invalid for some reason. I typed it manually as I was not going to publish it and it was the same after I published it, in case I mistyped a zero for letter "o". I don't know what the problem is. Is it in zipped format? What is the name of the record label that this rarity has been published on? And perhaps you could try another upload service as recommended in my above comments. Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Wow! Very impressive, and most appreciated! Now HERE's a challenge for you...
The Beatles "Ain't She Sweet" lp on the Atco label, circa 1964. Have seen mint copies going upwards to $1,000 in auctions, but seems a bit pricey to hear four Tony Sheridan tracks and a bunch of cover songs by a band called "The Swallows." I have a feeling if anyone can track down and upload a copy of this gem, it would be you! Hey, worth a shot, huh?

You are doing a wonderful job Chuntao, and it is very much appreciated! I have found here many great albums not seen anywhere else, and I come back here twice a week.
Since you obviously have a taste for the rare and almost unfindable, I have a request: I am searching for the song Follow The Wind by John Jolliffe, which was played in 1979 on british radio for a couple of weeks. I had it on cassette tape, but the tape was stolen from my car many years ago and I have been searching for it ever since. It would make me outrageously happy to have it again...
