"Bilitis" is an out of print French soundtrack and is just beautiful. I picked a near mint copy the other day on vinyl for buttons and gotta share it with you. This album features excellent piano work and exquisite saxophone that y'all fall in love with, much like the main character in the erotic film. The score was composed by Francis Lai, whose other work includes "Emmanuelle" & "Love Story" is a die-hard romantic and manages to capture what love is in an instant. Sit back and chill to this heady score.

I've listened to it 20 times this week. I agree it's lovely. And coz it's rare on vinyl I'm sure to make a tidy profit on my vinyl find. ;]

just for the record, I don't feel this at all.
Weelll, m a y b e the wah-wah guitar near the end, but otherwise : banal melodies played with cheapish synth-sounds.
Not a fair comparison perhaps, but I chose to listen to "Last Tango In Paris" (40-track version) after Bilitis. That made sense and sensuality for me but hey, that's just different tastes, right?!

Leo this one wasn't up your street. I think this a truly lovely album. Perhaps not for rockers. But has a quaint romantic feel to it with its jazzy influences.

My friend has been looking for this soundtrack for the last 6 years. Her husband bought it for her when it first came out. They made copies and gave them to many friends who enjoyed the music, and finally, her last copy was damaged by water. Her husband died 6 years ago (never knowing that the tape was damaged)and today she told me about this music...she felt sad and nostalgic.
I can't wait to give this to her tomorrow, and see the smile on her face and enjoyment when she listens to this music again!No doubt there will be a tear shed also. Thank you so much.

Yes I checked the prices recently and it is an expensive one. If I tell you that I picked up one of my mint copies on vinyl for £1.99 from a charity shop would that give you all the clues where I am from M.

Wow! I'm so glad I found this today....I was so close to spending $65 for a used CD of this soundtrack on a popular website that sells music, movies, etc. A friend had expressed a desire to have a copy of this soundtrack after I got him the movie last year. I know he'll fall over when he sees that I not only got it for him, but didn't get ripped off either. Thanks for this rare service!
